Lent.

It's so easy sometimes to get caught in the hype of giving something up for lent. Often we forget what the real meaning to giving something up...

Here is something that a friend posted online this week that I wanted to share. Rather than simply giving up that favorite dessert, give up something you really struggle with. And challenge yourself to become a better person this Lent.

Give up complaining - focus on gratitude.
Give up harsh judgements - think kindly.
Give up worry - trust Divine Providence.
Give up discouragement - be full of hope.
Give up bitterness - turn to forgiveness.
Give up hatred - return good for evil.
Give up anger - be more patient.
Give up pettiness - become mature.
Give up gloom - enjoy the beauty around you.
Give up jealousy - pray for trust.
Give up gossip - control your tongue.
Give up sin - turn to virtue.
Give up giving up - hang in there.

Regardless of your faith, you can take these next 40 days to focus on you and become a better version of yourself that will last.

"To change and to change for the better are two different things." -Proverb
